Our Story
Two clinicians. One shared belief.
A collective built around connection — and the belief that people are not meant to navigate life's challenges alone.
Vita Therapy Collective began with a conversation between two professionals who shared a vision for mental health care that felt both deeply human and thoughtfully clinical — Katy Pohland, LMFT, with more than 25 years in the field, and Erica Wiley, PhD, a licensed psychologist trauma-trained at Penn State CAPS.
For Katy and Erica, the idea for Vita grew from a simple belief: people are not meant to navigate life's challenges alone. Our relationships, our experiences, our families, and the communities around us shape who we are — and healing often begins when we feel genuinely seen, understood, and connected.
Over the years, we have both witnessed the courage it takes to ask for help. We have also seen how powerful therapy can be when people are given a safe space to slow down, make sense of their experiences, understand longstanding patterns, and begin creating something different.
We wanted to build a practice that reflected those values.

Why Vita?
The name Vita means life. It represents what we hope therapy can ultimately support — not simply the absence of distress, but the opportunity to create a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and authentic.
We envisioned a practice where clients could receive excellent clinical care while also feeling welcomed as whole people. And we wanted to create something more than an individual private practice. We wanted a collective.
A Collective Approach
Clinicians, just like clients, thrive in connection
Vita Therapy Collective was created to bring together exceptional mental health professionals who share a commitment to compassionate, trauma-informed, relationship-centered care.
By creating a collaborative community for therapists, we hope to foster ongoing learning, consultation, support, and professional growth. In turn, that creates a stronger foundation for the care we provide to our clients.
Our vision is to build a practice where clients feel cared for, clinicians feel supported, and relationships remain at the center of everything we do.
Serving the Whole Community
Care across the lifespan
We founded Vita because we believe our community deserves access to thoughtful, high-quality mental health care across the lifespan — children and adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families.
People navigating trauma and loss. People experiencing anxiety, stress, or major life transitions. People struggling in their relationships. And people who simply recognize that something in their lives could feel different.
There doesn't have to be a crisis to begin therapy.
Sometimes therapy is about healing. Sometimes it is about understanding. Sometimes it is about learning to relate differently. And sometimes it is simply about having someone walk alongside you for a while.
All ages, all stages
Every stage of life
Therapy for children ages 5 and up, adolescents, adults, and older adults — plus couples and families. There's a place for you here.
Our Hope for Vita
Our hope is that Vita becomes more than a place where people come for therapy — a place where connection creates possibility.
A place where clients can feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to explore, and supported enough to grow.
Vita Therapy Collective was born from our shared belief that healing happens in connection — and that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life marked by greater connection, meaning, and possibility.
We are so glad you're here.
