Trauma, relationships, identity, and life transitions
I work with adults navigating the effects of trauma, relationship difficulties, questions of identity, and life transitions. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, with attention to how your experiences shape the way you feel, understand yourself, and connect with others.
About Erica
I am a licensed psychologist with more than a decade of clinical training and experience, including six years in private practice. My background includes specialized training in trauma treatment during my internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Penn State's Counseling and Psychological Services, as well as extensive experience supporting people through life transitions, relationship difficulties, and periods of emotional distress.
My work is grounded in Relational-Cultural Therapy and the belief that people grow through relationships in which they feel seen, understood, and able to be themselves. I bring warmth, honesty, curiosity, and humor into the therapy room, creating a space where you can explore difficult experiences without feeling reduced to a diagnosis or treated like a problem to be solved.
I especially enjoy working with people who want to understand themselves more deeply—not only to find relief from distress, but to explore the experiences, relationships, and patterns shaping their lives. Together, we make room for the realities of what you have lived through while considering where you have choices, what matters to you, and how you want to move forward. You don't need to have that clarity before beginning; developing it can be part of our work.
I also have a growing interest in the transition to parenthood, including the changes it can bring to identity, relationships, responsibilities, and our sense of ourselves.
My approach is relational and emotion-focused while remaining flexible and responsive to each person. I thoughtfully draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, Internal Family Systems, solution-focused therapy, and other approaches when they can help you better understand longstanding patterns, access your strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
I co-founded Vita Therapy Collective with Katy to create a practice where excellent clinical care remains deeply human—one that supports people in finding greater clarity, experiencing connection, and creating change in their lives.
